Breast Augmentation Costs

It is impossible to calculate the exact cost of the procedure because prices vary from doctor to doctor and region to region. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average surgeons fee in 2001 was approximately $3,050. This price, however, does not include the cost of the implants or the anesthesiologist and facilitys fee. The total bill could range from $5,000 to $7,000.

When receiving a cost quote from a doctor make sure it includes the cost of the implants, anesthesiologist, and facilities fees. Also, confirm whether or not the price includes all of the follow-up appointments that are necessary. Future expenditures related to the initial surgery can be anticipated as well. Many patients must undergo revision or replacement surgery. Breast lift surgery or breast implant removal surgery may also be wanted.Doctors are often willing to assist patients by financing procedures.

Payment options and plans should be discussed with the doctor before surgery. Insurance Issues Health insurance can be affected by breast implants. Premiums may go up, coverage could be dropped, or future coverage denied. Furthermore, treatment of any complications may not be covered. It is important to check with ones insurance company to learn their specific policies regarding breast augmentation.
