Effects of Aging on the Face
Unfortunately, youth lasts from 18 to 25 years of age. After 25 the effects
of aging start to become visible. However, every person ages at different times
and in different ways.
A youthful face is defined by clean lines, thick skin that is well supported
by facial tissue, full lips and round cheeks. The fat in your face is called
Buccal fat. You are born with buccal fat and most is found in your cheeks. Yet
with age, this buccal fat begins to slip or else become absorbed by your skin,
giving your face a more hollow appearance.
Furthermore, as you age, your skin thins and your mouth and lips loose their
shape, and begin to sag. Also, there are more noticeable and defined wrinkles.
Many people have a lot of wrinkles at their eyes and as lines extending from
their nose to the corners of their mouth. These are the nasolabial lines. A
facelift cannot correct fine lines but it can give your face a more youthful
appearance by tightening loose skin.
