Face Lift Consultations

The consultation is your chance to speak one on one with the doctor about your facelift procedure. It is important to ask all your questions and discuss your concerns. The first step in a successful facelift surgery is choosing the right doctor.

Usually, a consultation with a doctor can cost around $50 to $100. It is important to have the consultation so you know exactly what is going to happen during the procedure. During the consultation, make sure to tell the doctor about any and all vitamins and medications you are taking. Some vitamins and medications can actually harm your recovery from a facelift.

Make sure you ask as many questions as it takes for you to feel comfortable. Below you will find some examples of questions to ask in a consultation.

Questions to Ask:

1. How long have you been a plastic surgeon? A doctor who has been in practice the longest is not necessarily the best doctor. A doctor who has been performing facelifts for a long time will have more experience with complications that may arise. However, a newer doctor may be more aware of newer techniques. It is a good idea to look at before and after pictures of the doctors previous patients. This will give you an idea of his style and the results.

2. What procedures do you often perform? Many surgeons specialize in one area. This does not mean, however, that they are not good in other areas.

3. What are the New Techniques available in Facelift surgery? Some new techniques can offer improvements in the facelift procedure. However, with new techniques there is a risk that there has not been extensive testing. There must be a balance of new and older more tested procedures. For more information on techniques for facelift procedures check out Facelift Techniques.

4. May I speak with some of your former patients? It is a good idea to speak with some of the doctors former patients if you can. This will give you a firsthand account of what the surgery is like and the recovery. Consider also looking at the PlasticSurgery.com Patient Experiences for personal stories from patients of doctors listed on our website.

5. Check Credentials of the doctor. It is important that the doctor you choose is fully trained to perform your desired facelift.

6. What does the procedure involve and what are the complications? It is important to know as much as you can before having a facelift. This website offers information on every aspect of a facelift.

7. What are your fees? A facelift can be expensive. However, patient financing is available and can make having a facelift easily affordable! Check out PlasticSurgery.com for information on patient financing.

8. How long will results last? How long a facelift lasts depends upon the doctor and technique preformed.

9. What is the recovery process?
